Franklin Method®: Fabulous Feet w/Trey Fry

April 27th

Our feet are an evolutionary marvel – yet most of us are unaware of the amazing design that makes this possible. This workshop will describe the structure and function of the foot and how our feet integrate with our knees and pelvis to create healthy movement. Without strong and well-aligned feet good posture cannot be attained and healthy walking, running, jumping and even standing is all but impossible.

Our feet propel us through life and are our foundation to the earth. How we take care of them can have a huge impact on how we move, our flexibility and how we feel. Fabulous Feet will positively affect any type of exercise, dance, or movement.

In this workshop, you will:

• Learn about the functional anatomy of the foot

• Learn exercises to keep your feet fit, strong and flexible

• Learn exercises to improve the integration of your lower leg, foot, knees and pelvis

• Improve posture and balance and help ease low back tightness and pain

Franklin Method®: Relax Your Neck, Liberate Your Shoulders w/Trey Fry

May 4th

Experience the power of imagery, touch and movement exercises to lengthen and balance shoulder and neck musculature. Learn how to melt away tension and associated mental anxiety. Release holding patterns in the upper body by activating the pelvic floor foundation and becoming aware of organic causes of tightness and muscular rigidity. Learn the experiential anatomy of the shoulder girdle and benefit from an increased awareness into the function and interaction of joints and muscles. Exercise with small rolling balls to experience smooth joint action, increased circulation and balanced posture. This serves as a wholesome foundation for a liberated shoulder girdle and a relaxed, mobile neck. A unique evolutionary invention, our shoulder girdle allows us to maintain our arms above our heads for a fairly long period of time without tiring. The counterbalancing effect of the shoulder blade is especially helpful in arm elevation. Experience how the design of the shoulder girdle suspends it from the ribcage. Learn how to melt away tension and associated mental anxiety. Let your shoulders and neck become a place of ease and comfort:

In this workshop, you will:

• Learn how your shoulders are designed to move

• To have suspended, free and easy shoulders

• To use Franklin balls and elastic bands to create smooth joint action

R&R: Roll & Restore w/Paula Trusky

May 11th

Day-to-day activities and physical training can take a toll on the soft tissues of our bodies. Our muscles get sore, tight, achy, overused or irritated. Often stretching alone is not enough to release this tension and finding the time and money for a professional massage is not always feasible. Want to learn to be your own therapist?

In this workshop you will learn techniques using a foam roller and various massage balls to perform a full body self massage, also known as myofascial release, to address trigger points, soothe tight fascia, increase blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues and perform effective and complimentary stretches. By lengthening our short or tight tissues we can aim to prevent physical imbalances that predispose us to injury and also help us to recover from physical workouts.

Franklin Method®: The Psoas: Integrating your Inner Core w/Trey Fry

May 18th

The psoas major, hugging your lumbar spine, is a true core muscle. Awareness and proper training of the psoas complex enhances spinal and pelvic alignment, liberates the hips, and awakens the abdominals. In this workshop, we will activate, balance and strengthen all three muscles in the psoas complex.

In this workshop, you will:

•Discover a new vision of a strong, balanced, and integrated core

•Create more ease of movement in walking, running and sitting

•Learn ball and imagery exercises to balance and strengthen the psoas complex

Franklin Method®: Pelvic Power for Core Integration w/Trey Fry

June 1st

This workshop focuses on the practical application of imagery techniques to increase the power, alignment and flexibility of the pelvic joints and muscles. To balance the action of the joints we will experience the natural bone rhythms in support of healthy function. This, in turn, will increase the safety of the lower back, knees and feet. Sacral balance is key to the alignment of the spine and legs. We will experience how the sacrum actually moves as a key to understanding and creating efficient, safe movement. Throughout the workshop imagery and language is used that explains the complex subject matter at all levels of experience. Evolutionary logic will provide a fresh and practical understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the pelvis. The participants will leave the workshop with a sense of aligned strength through the pelvic floor, the feet firmly balanced and the spine long and buoyant.

In this workshop, you will:

•Experience effortless alignment and balance for the whole body through experiential understanding of the pelvic bones and Joints

•Discover and apply the dynamic alignment of the sacrum

•Embody the musculature of the pelvic floor for lifelong health

•Learn ball and imagery exercises to train and balance the pelvic joints and muscles.
