-Comprehensive Pilates Certification-

The Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification is a three-level modular program that is designed to deliver the highest quality authentic Pilates education. It is the foundational level of Pilates professional education which covers the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Chairs, Barrels and Auxiliary Apparatus/Equipment. The Comprehensive Certification is a classical Pilates education program distinguished by an emphasis on Pilates as an integrated movement system as Joseph Pilates intended. 

Our three-level modular pathway to the Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification allows you to progress at your own pace. Each level is comprised of specific modules, generally scheduled Saturday through Sunday. Students may earn a certification at each level by attending all modules, successfully completing assessments and submitting logged hours. To earn the Peak Pilates® Full Comprehensive Certification, you must complete all three program levels and logged hours, and receive passing scores on all assessments.

The Peak Pilates Full Comprehensive Certification pathway culminates in a 658 hour certification, and generally takes one year to complete from the start date of Level I.

Comprehensive Certification Level I (252 Hours & 4 Live Trainings)


Level I is comprised of 4 modules and each module builds upon the knowledge and skills learned in the prior module and culminate in a Level I Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certification

Level I Course Objectives:

  • Learn to perform and teach the introductory & beginning exercises for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, High & Low Chairs, Small Barrel, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, Wall and Power Circle.

  • Learn how to teach a safe and effective Mat and Reformer classes.

  • Discover how to apply Peak Pilates® proprietary 5-Part Formula for Success to ensure effective teaching.

  • Ingrain teaching skills including tactile and verbal cueing, developing an ‘eye’, and understanding progression.

  • Review general anatomy and kinesiology terms, expand understanding of posture and the Powerhouse.

  • Explore the mechanism and effect of breathing on movement.

  • Develop strategies for working with students who suffer from chronic lower back pain of an unspecific nature

  • Gain an understanding of how to use props in progression and for variation.

  • Benefit from personalized coaching on live courses aimed at accelerating practical skills.

Course Pre-requisites: It is recommended, but not required, that the participant enters with an underpinning in basic anatomy gained through previous certifications in fitness and movement, through an online or live anatomy course, or attend Franklin Method® workshops with studio co-owner & Peak Pilates® Master Instructor, Trey Fry. Additionally, we recommend that the instructor take a minimum of 10 classical Pilates lessons or classes.

Level I Live Training 1: $685 includes materials

Module I dives into the history and benefits of Pilates, develops the foundation of working with Key Concepts and Fundamentals, starts building the Pilates vocabulary, and introduces teaches to the 5 Part Formula for Success which teaches the instructor HOW not just WHAT to teach. The introductory exercises for Mat, Reformer, Tower and Wall are learned and the instructor is prepared to begin practice teaching for Group Mat and Full Session private lessons.

Course Materials included with registration: Peak Pilates® Introductory Virtual Manual, Exercise Pages and online video library for Intro Mat, Reformer, Tower, and Wall, Level I Mat Progressions online workout video, Full Session Online Video Workout, narrated PPT presentations, online audio tutorials, handouts, and the Module I Study Guide.

Level I Live Training 2: $685 includes materials

Module 2 curriculum expands upon the foundational concepts introduced in Module 1, and adds additional exercises on Mat, Reformer, and Cadillac, as well as introducing Small Barrel, Ladder Barrel, and Power Circle. The emphasis is on developing the instructors understanding of movement, cueing, spotting and touch technique is created through hands-on workshop activities that prepare participants to gain the skills needed in real life teaching.

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Module 1.

Course Materials included with registration: Module 2 Peak Pilates Online Exercise Library and Exercise Pages, Virtual Manual, Beginner Dynamic Mat online workout video, narrated PPT presentations, handouts, online audio tutorials, and the Module 2 Study Guide.

These assignments are required to be completed in order to be eligible for assessment in Module 4.

Level I Live Training 3: $685 includes materials

Module 3 places the teaching focus on refining teaching skills, exploring progression with additional Part C/ Individual Needs exercises on the Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, and Chairs. The instructor moves beyond Full Session private instruction to exploring teaching entry level Reformer classes for healthy students. Preparation for working with chronic lower back pain of an unspecific nature begins and sets the instructor up for working confidently with this common special populations.

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Modules 1 & 2.

Course Materials included with registration: Module 3 Peak Pilates Online Exercise Library, Exercise Pages, Study Guide, Virtual Manual, narrated PPT presentations and online audio tutorials.

Level I Live Training 4: $685 includes materials

Module 4 is the final leg of the Peak Pilates Level I Comprehensive Certification Program. Teachers have polished skills and are ready for Assessment of exercise technique, Group Mat and Reformer teaching, and Private Full Session teaching.

Pre-Requisites:

  • 100% attendance of Modules 1, 2 and 3.

  • Completion of all 100 required hours for observation, exercise technique practice,

    teaching practice and assignments in the Study Guide for all modules.

  • The Level I online theoretical exam must be completed prior to attending this module.

Course Materials included with registration: Level I Module 4 Study Guide, Module 4 Virtual Manual, Case Studies, Student Assessment Guide, Self-Evaluation Tools, and Practice Exam are included with registration.

Comprehensive Certification Level II (252 Hours & 3 Live Trainings)


Level II comprises 3 modules and continues to build upon the information and skills acquired in Level I.

Level II Course Objectives:

  • Learn to perform and teach the Intermediate Exercises on Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Barrels, Chairs, and Endings.

  • Prepare to teach Intermediate Full Session Private Lessons and to teach group Tower Class.

  • Expand teaching tools and vocabulary.

  • Deepen ability to ‘see’ the body and make corrections with impact.

  • Explore the anatomy and kinesiology of the upper body.

  • Gain a greater understanding of shapes in space and progression

  • Prepare to work with common neck and upper body issues.

  • Benefit from personalized coaching on live courses aimed at accelerating practical skills.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Levels I. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications recommended.

There is a considerable amount of required online homework that will not be repeated during the live modules. These assignments are required to be completed in order to be eligible for assessment in Module 3.

Level II Live Training 1: $698 includes materials

Module 1: The instructor will hone the ability to perform and teach the Intermediate Level Mat, Reformer, Cadillac. Movement exploration will examine how to refine transitions, how to to monitor static and transitional body alignment, and to provide corrections that have impact. Instructors will discover the role of imagery in guiding movement.

Course Materials included with registration: Level II Module 1 Virtual Manual, Exercise Pages, Online Exercise Library, Study Guide, Narrated PPTs, handouts, audio tutorials, Intermediate Dynamic Mat Online Video, Level II Full Session Online Video.

Level II Live Training 2: $698 includes materials

Module 2: The instructor will add-in Intermediate Chair and Barrels, teaching will expand the use of touch technique, correcting the body in motion, and planning for progression.

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Level II Module 1.

Course Materials included with registration: Level II Module 2 Virtual Manual, Exercise Pages, and Online Exercise Library. Study Guide, Narrated PPTs, handouts, and audio tutorials.

Level II Live Training 3: $350 includes materials

Module 3: This 1 day module is an assessment of practical skills for teaching Full Session and Group Tower Class.

Pre-requisites:

  • 100% attendance of Modules 1 & 2.

  • Completion of all 60 required hours for observation, exercise technique practice, teaching practice and assignments in the Study Guide for all modules.

  • Completion of The Level II online theoretical exam.

Course Materials included with registration: Study Guide, Student Assessment Guide, Online practice theory exam, self-evaluation tools.

A Peak Pilates® Level II Certification is awarded to instructors who successfully complete all required Level II course elements and assessments.

Comprehensive Certification Level III (154 Hours & 3 Live Trainings)


Level III is comprised of 3 modules, teaches advanced concepts, practices and exercises, and culminates in the Final Comprehensive Assessment.

Level III Course Objectives:

  • Learn to perform and teach the advanced exercises for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Barrels, Chairs and Endings as well as auxiliary exercises for sand bag, Ped-o-Pul, towel, and jump board.

  • Develop the ability to teach Advanced Full Session Lessons with smart progression and guide progression.

  • Learn how to lead challenging group chair classes.

  • Gain understanding of the anatomy and kinesiology of the lower body

  • Prepare to work with common lower body issues.

  • Advance teaching skills and deepen the ability to prioritize corrections, select touch and cues, guide movement quality, and plan progression.

  • Expand understanding of progression with case studies.

  • Benefit from personalized coaching on live courses aimed at accelerating learning and enhancing practical skills.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Levels I and II. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications recommended.

Level III Live Training 1: $698 includes materials

Module 1: Explores performing and teaching the Advanced Level Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, foot corrector, and sand bag exercises. Gain a richer understanding of the practical anatomy of the lower body, correctional cueing, and touch techniques to aide in progression.

Course Materials included with registration: Level III Module 1 Virtual Manual, Exercise Pages, Online Exercise Library, Study Guide, Narrated PPTs, handouts, audio tutorials, Advanced Dynamic Mat Online Video, Level III Full Session Online Video, Group Chair Online Video.

Level III Live Training 2: $698 includes materials

Module 2: Complete the Advanced exercise syllabus with the addition of advanced Chair, Barrels, and Jump Board. Gain a greater understanding of Part C in progressing students to the advanced work, explore real life teaching with teaching skills and drills workshops and benefit from personalized coaching.

Pre-requisite: Attendance of Level III, Module 1.

Course Materials included with registration: Level III Module 2 Virtual Manual, Exercise Pages, Online Exercise Library, Study Guide, Narrated PPTs, handouts, and audio tutorials.

Level III Live Training 3: $350 includes materials

Module 3: Final Comprehensive Assessment is conducted over 8 hours. This final assessment encompasses Full Session Advanced Teaching and Group Chair as well as exercise technique on all apparatus. The online theory exam must be completed prior to this module.

  • Completion of all 60 required hours for observation, exercise technique practice, teaching

    practice and assignments in the Study Guide for all modules.

  • Completion of the Level III online theoretical exam.
